Day 37 – 2012
Creativity in the Kitchen! A concoction of my own!
Sausage and Apple Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 Onions
- 12 Quality Sausages
- 3 good size apples
- 2 tbsp dried Sage
- 2 stock cubes
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180oC. Peel and slice the onions. Chop the sausages into thirds. Slice the apples. Brown the onions in a large casserole pot, then add the sausages and continue to fry. Add the stock cubes to a pint of hot water and mix until dissolved. Add the sage to the casserole and fry for about a minute. Add the apple, then pour the stock over the sausages and onions. Continue to stir making sure that the bottom of the casserole is clean Season as you see fit, I added some cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper Cover the casserole and pop it in the oven for 45 minutes. Just before serving mix a couple of tablespoons of tablespoons of cornflour with water and mix into the casserole to thicken it up a bit. It will work well on a lower temperature for a longer time!
Enjoy!
